About 33 Gastronauts
33 Gastronauts is a romantic family-owned restaurant hidden on the quiet Prof. Asen Zlatarov street. Opened in the spring of 2014, it takes the place of the legendary “33 Chairs” - one of the first privately-owned restaurants which opened in the nineties. This is where the number 33 in the name of the restaurant comes from. It is a way of acknowledging the history of the place, while gastronauts are called the people with great appreciation of fine food.
The motto of the restaurant is: “A dish has to be “live” on a plate, to bring joy and reach all senses”.
Based on his rich international culinary experience the owner, who is also the Executive Chef, has created each unique recipe adding a Mediterranean or Middle Eastern touch. All dishes are contemporary and innovative combinations of fresh seasonal ingredients. There are plenty of vegetarian as well as vegan options to choose from. The menu together with the wine list are updated frequently in order to showcase and develop new tastes and a desire for exploration of the unknown. Or in other words to form the new Gastronauts.
Situated in a beautiful house, the interior of 33 Gastronauts is simple yet stylish without being pretentious. The place gives a natural feeling of coziness and informality. During the cold months the fireplace adds to the homey feeling while in summer the guests are welcome in the garden full of flowers, covered with a glass roof and five-leaved Ivy.
